Crystal Shield PPF was born out of a love for cars, a dedication to craftsmanship, and one unexpected encounter with a Porsche Turbo.

From Body Shop Manager to PPF Pioneer

Before launching Crystal Shield in 2007, our founder Norbert Ibarra spent over 15 years managing collision centers and working directly in the auto body repair industry. Every day, he was immersed in paint, prep, and perfection.

That all changed when he was preparing a repair plan for a white Porsche Turbo—and discovered something remarkable: the car was protected with a next-generation paint protection film (PPF).

Norbert had seen clear bras before, but this was different. The clarity, self-healing capabilities, and flawless fit of the film stopped him in his tracks. It was unlike anything he had seen in all his years of paint and panel repair.

A New Direction — Training, Certifications, and Innovation

Inspired, Norbert dove headfirst into the world of paint protection.

He began his professional training and earned certifications with the top brands in the industry:

With each level of certification, he honed his skills, mastered new techniques, and pushed for cleaner, more precise installations. But as time went on, he noticed a gap in the market—DIY installers were left with subpar kits that didn’t live up to professional standards.

Raising the Bar for DIY PPF

Norbert knew the power of quality patterns. The pre-cut templates used by most professional shops didn’t offer the coverage or precision he demanded. So, he began designing his own PPF patterns—custom-built for:

This became the foundation of Crystal Shield’s DIY division, delivering high-performance, enthusiast-grade PPF kits to the broader car-loving community.
